Please note, our Summer School Remediation format has changed this year!  In an effort to make remediation more accessible, students can now remediate fall or spring grades in either session 1 or session 2.

Note: No class on Fridays

Daily Periods

  • Period 1 (8:30 - 10:00):  Math, Theology & Social Studies
  • Period 2 (10:15-11:45): English, Science & World Languages

Our ability to run a course is subject to enrollment levels. Final enrollment is typically not confirmed until the week before summer school begins. Any registration fees for courses that do not end up running will be refunded.

Cost: $700/course

 

ADVANCEMENT COURSES

Health (Incoming Freshmen and all grade levels)

Health is open to current students that did not take health their freshman year as well as incoming freshman who are taking Cultural Geography MUN in the fall. Please note, if you are an incoming freshman who takes Health during the summer and you drop MUN at the start of the school year, you will be required to take the Health Seminar class.

As health is a semester course, it can be taken either first or second session. Attendance is MANDATORY on the first and last day of the session (no exceptions), all other coursework will be conducted online.

Cost: $735*

*price includes the cost of the textbook.

Physical Education

Monday through Thursday 8:00 – 11:00, no classes on Friday.

Cost $700. 

Each session fullfills 5 credits of PE.  SM requires 10 credits of PE for graduation.

 

OTHER ADVANCEMENT COURSES

These courses require both a counselor/teacher approval and a grade requirement to register.  A code will be sent at the end of the school year to those who meet the requirements.  Contact summersession@smhs.org if you are interested in taking one of these in-person summer school classes.

FRESHMAN PREP

Freshman Prep will run Monday-Thursday from July 6th - July 23. All classes will begin at 8:00am and will run concurrently. The cost for freshman prep is contingent on the number of courses they are required to take.  The 1st day of freshman prep will be orientation and tablet training.
